Blood Sugar Control: Keep your diabetes in check with these home remedies

Diabetes is a disease which never leaves you once it comes in your lives. Diabetics need to take care of their eating habits a lot. Even a slight carelessness can increase your sugar level. Sugar control medicine in Ayurveda is one way of controlling your blood sugar level.

A diabetic should adopt a healthy lifestyle. In addition, it very important to control weight.

Let us know the symptoms of diabetes:

  • Feeling thirsty and dehydrated
  • Visiting toilet frequently
  • Feeling very hungry
  • Sudden weight loss or gain
  • Fatigue
  • Irritability
  • Blurred vision
  • Delayed healing of wound
  • Skin infections
  • Oral infections
  • Vaginal infections

Ayurvedic treatment and home remedies for diabetes:

  • Fig leaves:

Fig leaves are used in the treatment of diabetes. It has anti-diabetic properties which helps in lowering blood sugar levels. Chewing fig leaves empty stomach or boiling them in water keeps diabetes under control.

  • Fenugreek:

Fenugreek is very beneficial for diabetics as well. Including fenugreek seeds in your diet keeps your blood sugar under control. Soak a teaspoon of fenugreek seeds overnight in a glass of water. Drink these seeds and water on an empty stomach in the morning. Don’t eat anything for about thirty minutes. Doing this 2-3 times a week helps in lowering your blood sugar.

  • Cinnamon:

Cinnamon has innumerable advantages. It is a spice used commonly in Indian households. It not only enhances taste and aroma but also controls diabetes. This spice has antidiabetic properties. The use of cinnamon helps in lowering of blood sugar levels. To reap its benefits, you should consume half a teaspoon of cinnamon powder everyday.

  • Grape seeds:

Grape seeds contain natural elements like vitamin E, flavonoids and linoleic acid. These essential properties have proved to be helpful in controlling of blood sugar. You can grind grape seeds into powder and use them in your diet as and when you want.

  • Olive oil:

Using olive oil keeps cholesterol under control. This helps in removing of triglycerides. It also controls the blood sugar in the body.

  • Garlic:

Garlic is one of the most common ingredients found in every household. It helps to keep cholesterol in check. Including garlic in your diet also keeps your blood sugar in control. Soak 2-3 cloves of garlic in water overnight. Chew it in the morning on an empty stomach to reduce your glucose level.

  • Aloe vera:

Aloe vera is one of the most common plants found in our homes. It has been used in Ayurveda for long time now. Its uses are extensive. Diabetics can have aloe vera juice in the morning and control their sugar level. Aloe vera contains elements like hydrophilic fiber, glucomannan and phytosterol. These elements help to keep blood sugar level in check.

  • Neem:

Neem is a well-known tree in the Indian sub-continent. It is used in many ayurvedic medicines. Neem and its leaves help to reduce blood sugar level in diabetics. Neem has antibacterial and antifungal properties.

  • Amla:

Amla is rich in vitamin C and is known to reduce blood glucose levels. Amla has hypoglycemic properties. You can ground amla seeds and use the powder in your diet. Including amla in your food gradually reduces blood sugar level.

  • Blackberry seeds:

Blackberry seeds are useful in controlling your blood sugar level. After drying the blackberry kernels, grind them well into a powder. Consume this powder every morning with water. During its season eat a lot of blackberries.
